Learn the story of a remarkable planet - unlike anything else we've found in the universe

The planet was born from the remains of dying stars and shaped by violent collisions in space. But what was once a hostile ball of molten rock and stone has been transformed over billions of years into an environment where life could emerge. And yet we have yet to find life anywhere else in the universe.

This planet is not millions of light years away. You are standing on it, right now. This is Earth. The blue planet.

Breathtaking and complex visualisations based on the latest scientific methods will take the audience back in time to the origins of our planet. We will explore the series of extraordinary events that not only made life possible, but also allowed it to flourish.

Journey to the present day as we meet a team of geologists travelling the globe, searching for clues that help us piece together the story that is perhaps unique in our universe.

The Story of the Earth is a fascinating documentary filmed for the big screen and directed by Russell Scott. The film focuses on how modern geology has given us a whole new understanding of how life on Earth originated.
