On Saturday 29 March at noon, the moon will slide in front of the sun - and a partial solar eclipse will hit Denmark. This is a phenomenon we can experience every 2-3 years. Total solar eclipses, on the other hand, don't happen to many of us - the next one in Denmark will take place in more than 100 years.
If you can't wait that long, you can come to Planetarium and learn more about solar eclipses under the always cloudless sky.
Among other things, we travel into space and take a closer look at what it looks like when the Moon slides in front of the Sun and casts its shadow on the Earth. We'll also take a look at what today's solar eclipse looks like in Greenland, where it will be almost total. And finally, we take a look into the future and show what it will look like on 25 May 2142, when the moon completely extinguishes the light over Denmark.
We end the event outdoors by experiencing the partial solar eclipse at its maximum at 12.22pm through our solar telescopes and/or eclipse glasses - weather permitting.
The event is suitable for all age groups from 6 years and upwards.
