Experience the exciting debut of a brand new concert form where music and technology meet and sound is created in space. Satellite Synthesizer presents a unique sonic journey where sound is created using a specially set up network of satellites 36,000 km above the earth. The guest musicians' sound is sent out into the satellite system and returns transformed - shaped by the long journey of over 200,000 km outside the Earth's atmosphere.
The concert will be integrated into Planetarium's iconic dome with a 360° fulldome video system.
The concert is part of the Vinterjazz 2025 Festival.
The participating artists are among the best in the country in their fields:
Theis Ørntoft is one of Denmark's most topical writers. Ørntoft made his debut with the poetry collection Yeahsuiten in 2009 and has since published the poetry collection Digte in 2014 and the novel Solar in 2018. Her latest novel Jordisk was published in 2024 and received the European Union Prize for Literature 2024.
Lotte Anker is one of Denmark's most distinctive saxophonists and composers, known for her innovative approach to improvisation and avant-garde jazz. Her intense and atmospheric playing has secured her a place on the international jazz scene. With a deep artistic vision, she continues to fascinate audiences and critics around the world.
Kresten Osgood is a versatile Danish drummer and composer known for his innovative approach to jazz and improvisation. Snöleoparden, aka Jonas Stampe, is a Danish/Pakistani musician and multi-instrumentalist known for his experimental projects that integrate elements of Javanese black magic, Balinese gamelan, Pakistani Sufism and Greenlandic Inuit culture. Stampe is the brainchild behind SATELLITE SYNTHESIZER.
