Experience the magic of Planetarium's iconic dome, where we combine modern technology and nature's own masterpieces to give you an unforgettable evening.

In this visual lecture, award-winning astrophotographer Jakob A. Andersen presents his mesmerising images of the night sky - photographs that have captivated millions of stargazers around the world. This evening, their grandeur can be fully experienced when they are displayed on Europe's largest tilting dome screen.

Jakob A. Andersen's camera has captured moments like the ISS space station gliding precisely in front of the Sun's glowing surface and the majestic Orion Nebula shining like a jewel in the winter night sky. With his unrivalled patience and technical expertise, he takes us closer to the stars than most people ever get. His images reveal a world of colour and detail that our eyes rarely perceive - from the violet haze of the Pleiades star cluster to the sparkling gas bands of the Rosetta Nebula.

In addition, Planetarium's astrophysicist will take us on a fascinating space and star journey on the impressive dome screen - to the same celestial bodies that Jakob A. Andersen has immortalised. We will be enriched with astrophysical knowledge and insights from the world's largest telescopes that have been watching.

The event is not just a visual feast - it's an opportunity to get closer to the big questions of where we come from and what awaits us out there.

The lecture is aimed at both the curious amateur astronomer and all those who love to immerse themselves in the interplay of science and art.

The lecture puts words and astronomical perspective on Jakob A. Andersen's photo exhibition in the Round Tower, which can be visited until 21 March 2025.
